The Alpha Zeta Chapter has over a thousand living alumni across the country and the globe who continually strive to uphold Theta Chi’s motto to extend “An Assisting Hand”. Our alumni are of diverse backgrounds and have chosen varied career paths in an array of industries.

Some of our notable alumni include: Hon. William G. Easton ’21, former Justice of the New York State Supreme Court; C. Grandison Hoyt ’24, former University Trustee and benefactor; Dr. Edward G. Gibson ’59, former NASA astronaut; G. Robert Witmer ’59, former Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees; and Edmund A. Hajim ’58, current Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees and the namesake of the University’s Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences.

The Fraternity has set up a multitude of channels for our alumni to stayed connected with the brotherhood. Since the Chapter’s inception at the U of R in 1920, the active brotherhood has produced a biannual alumni newsletter entitled, The Mirror. Each October, the Fraternity hosts a formal Reception during Meliora Weekend. The Fraternity also hosts an annual alumni Barbeque to celebrate Theta Chi’s Founders’ Day. On a more informal level, the active brotherhood and Alumni Board host Alumni Dinners each month, held at the Chapter House.

If you have any questions regarding alumni affairs or you are an Alpha Zeta alumnus hoping to get involved, please direct your questions to our Alumni Board President, Mike DeMarco ’87 (, or the undergraduate chapter (
